“Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.”

Personal Statement
My professional journey is shaped by a lifelong passion for both art and teaching. With advanced degrees in fine art and education from Sul Ross State University and ongoing doctoral studies in teacher education and instructional technology at the University of North Dakota, I thrive at the intersection of creativity and pedagogy.
Throughout my career, I have learned to take life experiences and share them with others to continue advancing knowledge for future generations to come, even after I’m gone. There’s a quiet magic in the simplest moments, and I find joy in collecting them like treasures for my bucket list. I still remember the gentle scratch of cotton between my fingers in a sunlit field, the thrill and laughter of watching ostriches thunder past in a blur of feathers and dust, and the delight of tasting foods I’d never imagined. Each small adventure, no matter how humble or unexpected, fills me with wonder and gratitude, reminding me that life’s most meaningful memories are often found in the places and experiences we least expect.
Art isn’t just my passion; it’s the heartbeat of my everyday life. In quiet moments, I find myself reaching for my iPhone, capturing the world as I see it: a fleeting ray of sunlight, the curve of a shadow, the burst of unexpected color. Each snapshot becomes a canvas for my imagination, transformed through color, composition, and skilled technical technique into something uniquely my own. Creating art fills me with a sense of wonder and joy, allowing me to express emotions and stories that words alone can’t capture. Every piece I make is a celebration of inspiration and playfulness, a reflection of how I see and feel the world around me.
My art speaks from my heart and the adventures I have taken. Each piece is inspired by the moments I captured and crafted to share my unique perspective and ignite imagination. By sharing my work, I hope to leave a lasting legacy that brings joy and inspiration to everyone around me, allowing my story and passion to live on through the art I leave behind.
